Seongsan Peak in Jeju Island, Korea

Seongsan Peak is one of the must places to go in Jeju Island. Since Jeju Island has been named by UNESCO as one of the new 7 natural wonders of the world, they authorities have waived the entrance fee to this place.

This peak stands at about 180 metres tall and I think it is made from lava.  The climb up the peak is quite daunting but judging by the crowd, most are not perturbed. The cold and strong winds does not deter many either.

For those that reach the top, they are rewarded with breath taking views of the surrounding areas and the seas. The vegetation and rocks are also equally interesting.

At the bottom of the peak, there are a number of shops and this provides respite from the cold as one can get some hot drinks, snacks and even some souvenir shopping.

Until the next time, cheers.
