Pura Brasa Restaurant in Barcelona, Spain

The article on this restaurant is way overdue. We were in Barcelona in March 2013. This was our first meal in Barcelona and first in Spain too. This restaurant was a short 5 minutes from our apartment. We were obviously quite excited for our first Spanish meal.

The place was located in a small shopping mall called The Arenas (shaped like an indoor stadium) and apparently has a few other branches in Spain. The place looked modern and cosy and inviting.

We had a simple dinner due to the jetlag and time difference.

Very nice mussels
Roasted brinjals

Pork dish
Deep fried calamari
The dishes we ordered were safe and not very adventurous as it was our first day. However, with the freshness of the food, it tasted great.

Service was quick and efficient. It was a good first meal for us in Spain.

Scoozi Italian restaurant in Thailand

This is a chain casual dining Italian restaurant in Thailand. We have eaten at a number of locations but this is at the Mega Bangna Mall (where Ikea Thailand is located) and near to our house in Bangkok. This visit was in September 2013.

Had to put this up. See the mannequin's finger. I wonder this was a mistake or one of the staff had a bad day?

Back to the food.....

Entrance to the restaurant
Internal decor
Open kitchen
Menu of the restaurant
Caesar salad
Grape fruit drink
Another salad
Pasta carbonara
Another pasta
Mushroom soup

3 pizzas
We ordered a simple dinner for the family although the restaurant's menu had many more types of food. So far, we have been satisfied eating here. The food is not bad and prices are reasonable. Service is also good and fast.

Until the next time, cheers.

Moom Aroi Thai restaurant in Pattaya

We went to Pattaya for a short holiday in December 2013. While there, I did some Google searching on where to eat and this restaurant consistently appeared in the top 10 or best restaurants in Pattaya. Therefore, we had to go there for dinner one night.

The restaurant was located by the sea and with acquisitions of neighbor sites, it is one very long restaurant.

They took over a house next door
The ambiance of the place is not bad with live music which was not bad. However, this is at the main scetion of the restaurant. However, if you were to be at the far end, one would probably not able to enjoy the music.

For a rather large crowd. the food arrived rather quick. We ordered just the normal popular stuff and there were 11 of us. Some how I was not able to get the flashlight on my phone camera to work and with the low lights, the photos of the food did not come out as how I would have wished. Sorry about that.

Fried cabbage
Fresh oysters

Thai style condiments for the oysters

A close up of the fresh oyster
I was rather dissapointed that the size of the oysters were small and they had also run out of the "sweet" vegetables that is a must to eat with the oysters. The whole package with the spicy sauce, fried shallots, lime, etc makes eating oyster a real experience.

Crab balls

Fish cake

Curry crabs
Food dissapearing at speed of light
Kheng som fish
We did not over order but we have 2 portions of each as we had many growing young adults with us. I was not able to take photos of another 2 dishes.

The signs put up at this restaurant were very funny due to the language. We had to take some photos and you judge for yourself. Try also to figure what they are trying to tell you. It is a literal translation from Thai.

The overall bill came to about Baht 4,500 which was not cheap but not too expensive either. The food is not bad but I would not consider it as very good either. Maybe, in Pattaya which is a tourist place.

The contact address of the place is :

Until the next time, cheers.
