Conrad's German restaurant in Frankfurt

One evening after the exhibition,  a group of us wanted to have some good German food. As our friends have not been to Frankfurt before we wanted to walk around the old town hall area before moving on the Sachsenhausen area know for the many traditional German restaurants.

However, we changed our mind at the last minute due to the extreme cold weather and freak snowing and chanced upon this delightful restaurant.

Little did we know that this restaurant is also very popular but located in the middle of the main shopping area Zeil and just steps from the main train and light rail stations of Haupwache. So convenient.

The prices on the menu was very reasonable, also mentioned by a couple of facebook friends. So, as usual, we went for the mixed platter, easy choice. One boiled and one fried.

My friend had a "small" German beer. Looks very nice and enticing. The waitress was very friendly and jovial.

The food was good as usual but as usual too, too much to finish. There was knuckles, meat loaf, sausages, meat cuts served with the mandatory mashed potato and sauerkraut.

Whilst the others were not too keen, I loved the blood sausage....yummy yummy. Just like a pate.

The atmosphere was so nice and friendly. We even made friends with a very nice German business man seating next to us. He is a local and comes here very often. He gave us lots of local info too. My friend, Nick was so happy with the dinner that we bought all of us dinner, gave the waitress a good tip and even paid for our German friend at the next table. The total cost of the dinner was very reasonable too.

We enjoyed the food so much that when we had another lunch appointment the next day, we went back there. This time, we tried the schnitzel, one with cheese and the other with brown gravy. Both were very very good. We also had some goulash soup and some apple wein.

This is now my favorite restaurant in frankfurt. Can't wait to come back here again. The contact details of the restaurant is as follows :
