Umaiya Japanese Restaurant

This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. They have 3 outlets ie Damansara Utama, Puchong IOI Walk and KLCC. However only the first two serves a Eat All You Can (with beer) on weekends. This restaurant has a good following and the weekend do is always full. One can also opt for a prepaid card and depends on the amount you put in, earns extra credits on the amount of money put in between 5% to 30%.

We visited this place last in May 2013 and we went to the Damansara outlet as the Puchong one was already full.

The deco of the restaurant is quite modern and although dark for a restaurant is rather calming. The eat of you can menu is quite limited in its range but I suppose it does the trick, so to say.

Now to the dishes that we ordered this time round :

Grilled fish, mackarel and can't remember the other one.
Appetisers ie baby octopus and jellyfish
Fried chicken
Yakotori and grilled chicken wings
Nice tofu
Duck salad...really good
Fried tofu, fried salmon fish head, cold soba and deep fried soft shell crab
Several types of maki rolls
Fish head soup
Beef sukiyaki
Salmon and butter fish sashimi
Pickles
Fried tuna maki
Beef
Garlic fried rice
Cold soba
Another types of tofu and beef yakitori
The good thing about this place is that the servings are small and therefore you can enjoy more variety but the downside is you have to make many orders and deal with lots of plate and waiting.

Overall, I think it is a value for money and the food is not bad and service is also good. It is an additional bonus if you can consume lots of beer.

For more details of their outlets and promotions, go to http://umai-ya.com/ or their facebook page.

Until the next time, cheers.
