Chatuchak Weekend Market Bangkok

The last time we went to the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok must have been quite a number of years ago. It is actually quite interesting to go there with exception for the heat. We were there rather early on a Sunday morning and only some shops were opened. The place would be fully opened only by about 11 am. For me, the place would be too hot by then.

Many shops still not opened.

Some old stuffs for sale.

Yet more shops not opened.
You will be able to see many types of things at the market. They are divided into sections. This makes it easier to shop. You may not wish to go to certain sections. However, the fun is in the exploring. You never know what you may come across.

All types and colours of beads.

Getting ready for halloween.
There are also some food stalls and they were starting to prepare and cook the food for the day. There was a sign in Thai that offered Baht 500 for a day's job. That's not too bad for the locals.

Nice fresh prawns. Tom yum kung perhaps?
Workers cutting up meat.
Frying up the chickens.
This stall was getting ready ice lollies done in the old fashioned way. There is ice at the bottom and you have to keep spinning it to freeze the lollies. These are made from a variety of syrup flavours.

The clock tower. Easy landmark.

Lamps done in antique fashion. Very nice.

All types of clocks.
Lots of Buddha statues.
All types of snow globes.

Porcelain figurines.

Funny toilet signs in ceramics.

Nice lights.

We bought for Christmas.

Many types of toys
The pets section is also very interesting. While they have quite a large area, we only passed a small area and took photos of the area only. Judging by what's on sale, Thai people are spending a lot for their beloved pets.
Snacks for your dogs!

Dress up your dogs?
More dress for your dogs?
All types of toys for the dogs.

The puppies being groomed. Gotta look good!
A local cowboy shop.
Simple toys for sale.
The place coming to life at 11 am.
The good thing about being there early is there is less heat and less people which suits me just fine. If you come in December or January, the mornings are also much cooler. The worst is from March to May.

Until the next time, cheers.
