Yangon from the air

In my recent trip to Yangon in October 2013, I managed to get some decent photos of Yangon from the plane, both when arriving and departing. The country is still very green with not much of development.

One can not help but notice how fertile is the land and with the great Irrawaddy river meandering its way to the sea.

The land is so fertile.
See how the river bends.
The mighty Irrawady river
Rain coming in

Heavy clouds overlooking Yangon area

Approaching Yangon

Some new housing development

The Yangon airport has also been renovated and it is quite comfortable.

Near the check in area
Going up for the immigration check and departure hall
Nice huge mural on the wall

As it was the Haj season, there was a large group of pilgrims waiting to board a chartered Air Asia flight.

Photos during the departure. This time, the photos are on the city side.

Nice view of bridge to the city

I will posting more about my trip to Myanmar soon.

Until the next time, cheers.
