Chaam Beach in Thailand (near Hua Hin)

Chaam is located just before Hua Hin but it is the lesser known (to foreigners) sister beach to Hua Hin. However, this makes the place less crowded and less expensive....hehehe.

As in many public beaches in Thailand, there will be lots of canopy where you would have to pay a charge but you can sit for the whole day. There will be lots of vendors selling food and also stalls cooking food for you. So, we went to the main public beach in Chaam one afternoon.

Nice shade from the heat
Lots of place to sit.
Plenty of sea sports. One can rent floats too.
One of the food vendors
There were vendors selling fried prawns, squids, mussells, fish, papaya salad, etc. You can also order all types of Thai dishes including fried rice, pork, vegetables,.etc.

All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the food.

We tried this "cracker" but does not taste good. It's huge though.
The boys had to go on the banana boat ride and float and they had a lot of fun....

It's a good way to spend half a day or even a full day. One can find the same system at all beaches in Thailand. Some of them are popular with certain tourists for example, there is a more secluded beach in Pattaya popular with Swedes and another area with Germans. I suppose it's by word of mouth. The good thing is the locals can speak some of this language.

Nearby this public beach, on the main road, the most popular dish seems to be roast pork. Almost all the shops sell this and the pig is roasting by the road. So, we had to try this.

We stopped at one of the shop and ordered some simple lunch.....

Roast pork
Fried rice
Som tam, papaya salad
Fish spicy soup...
The food was good and cheap....ah...a good holiday. What more can you ask for....

Until the next time, cheers.
