Moom Aroi Thai restaurant in Pattaya

We went to Pattaya for a short holiday in December 2013. While there, I did some Google searching on where to eat and this restaurant consistently appeared in the top 10 or best restaurants in Pattaya. Therefore, we had to go there for dinner one night.

The restaurant was located by the sea and with acquisitions of neighbor sites, it is one very long restaurant.

They took over a house next door
The ambiance of the place is not bad with live music which was not bad. However, this is at the main scetion of the restaurant. However, if you were to be at the far end, one would probably not able to enjoy the music.

For a rather large crowd. the food arrived rather quick. We ordered just the normal popular stuff and there were 11 of us. Some how I was not able to get the flashlight on my phone camera to work and with the low lights, the photos of the food did not come out as how I would have wished. Sorry about that.

Fried cabbage
Fresh oysters

Thai style condiments for the oysters

A close up of the fresh oyster
I was rather dissapointed that the size of the oysters were small and they had also run out of the "sweet" vegetables that is a must to eat with the oysters. The whole package with the spicy sauce, fried shallots, lime, etc makes eating oyster a real experience.

Crab balls

Fish cake

Curry crabs
Food dissapearing at speed of light
Kheng som fish
We did not over order but we have 2 portions of each as we had many growing young adults with us. I was not able to take photos of another 2 dishes.

The signs put up at this restaurant were very funny due to the language. We had to take some photos and you judge for yourself. Try also to figure what they are trying to tell you. It is a literal translation from Thai.

The overall bill came to about Baht 4,500 which was not cheap but not too expensive either. The food is not bad but I would not consider it as very good either. Maybe, in Pattaya which is a tourist place.

The contact address of the place is :

Until the next time, cheers.

12 twelve cafe in Semenyih

We stumbled on this cafe one night. It is located on the main road on the left if you are travelling from Semenyih to Kajang near the Chinese New Village after the town (just after the junction to Sg Lallang/Nirwana).

Nice lit up signage
Main entrance to the shop
A little promo of the chef
Nice signages
This place is full of surprises. It is located in a Chinese New Village and is actually an old new village house. I must take my hats off to the interior designers. They have used old furnitures, toys, recycled almost everything and it is worthwhile for one should just visit to place to have a look at the decor. Things and toys from the 1940s to 1990s are used in various places and art pieces also adorn the walls.

The menu is very extensive and prices are really reasonable. Of course you can't expect a Michelin star experience but overall the food is tasty and good service. Portions are quite large but mostly carbs to fill you up.

Menu
Inside sitting
Spaghetti bolognaise
Cream of mushroom
Chicken burger
Fried beehoom
Ice cream special
Pizza
We had too much to eat that we had to pack the pizza.

Restoran Eurasian Cuisine in Taman Kajang Sentral (TKS), Kajang

This is the first Eurasian restaurant to open in Kajang and it is located facing the SILK Highway in Taman Kajang Sentral (TKS) on the way to Semenyih. The restaurant enjoys a steady following who wish to have some western, Eurasian or Nonya style food.

We have been there a number of times and they make good pies. However, it runs out fast as many people call to book them. So it will depend on your luck. This time, we were there for a quick lunch and had sambal prawns, roast pork and fired chicken wings. They all come with rice.

Prawn sambal

Fried chicken wings
There have a standard menu and also daily specials. They used to be closed on Sundays but due to many requests, they are now open for lunch only on Sundays.

The food is not bad and service is quick and efficient. The owners are very friendly. You can also follow them on Facebook. They can be contacted at :
