Barcelona Cathedral or Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St Eulalia

The cathedral in Barcelona is one of the oldest churches in Spain. It was principally built between the 13th to 15th centuries. We visited this place one morning when it was raining heavily and was very cold.

The cathedral is located within the Barri Gothic or the old city.

The church is in Gothic style and very impressive too. As it also very large, there are many altars on the sides of the wall.

The crypt of St Eulalia located at the bottom of the main altar.

There is a secluded cloister at the side of the cathedral and to our amazement, there was a flock of very large geese.

This is the view of one of the chapel for quite prayer and meditation with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.

These beautiful old churches are always a joy to visit.

Until the next time, cheers.

St Theresa Church Hua Hin

This church is a church run by the Salasians. It is a beautiful church and I believe was completed only recently. We attended the Saturday sunset mass but was a little late due to the heavy traffic as well as a large fair next door to the church.

The entrance of the church from inside the church.
A view of the altar
Another view of the altar
Nice designs
Being in the Christmas season
Entrance with nice Christmas decor.

New and nice toilets

The church seem to also sponsor a number of students from the nearby tribal villages and they performed very well in the choir.

Overall a very nice church indeed. The details of the church are as follows :

Eric Vokel Gran Via Suite in Barcelona

During our March 2013 stay in Barcelona, we stayed at the Eric Vokel Boutique Apartments on Grand Via. We chose this hotel based on the good reviews that it got from the internet.

One thing about this place is the it is newly renovated and gave a very nice feel to it. The receptionist is also very helpful.
In the main hall wall, nice.

Two doors away, there is a nice coffee place. We went there one morning as it was raining and had some breakfast.

View of the coffee shop

Yummy hot chocolate
Nice deco of different types of grains.

In fact, there are many restaurants and coffee shops within the neighborhood. The subway station is also right around the corner. The neighborhood is also very safe. Within a 10 minutes walk, there is a small shopping mall called Arena Barcelona.

Road outside the apartment
We had the 1 bedroom apartment and was not dissapointment. The apartment is very comfortable and we had ample space for the two of us.

During one of the night, Real Madrid played Manchester United in Old Trafford. At least we get to watch football not during an unearthly hour as in Asia.

Apart from eating out, we also cooked, one advantage of staying in an apartment. The food was really good (wife's a good cook) and the ingredient was also super fresh and high quality.

Yummy stew
Very fresh mussels.
The contact details of the apartment is as follows :

Sorry, you have to read it this way.
On the last day, when we were leaving, the sun came out in full force. It was raining heavily in the 5 days we were there...sigh.

Anyhow, it was still a good trip and a nice place to stay.

Until the next time, cheers.
